Respite Care - Convenient Home Away from Home

For many families, sharing their lives with an older adult - often a parent or grandparent - is a blessing enveloped in joys as well as challenges.

These multi-generational households are able to develop routines that satisfy the needs of all members. But, when the routine is interrupted, things can seem to slip out of control. An out-of-state wedding, a family vacation, or a slow recovery from an illness or injury once meant that individuals who rely on assistance from family members were faced with being alone or that others would have to forego a special event. Fortunately, many older adults and their families are now finding that respite care is just what they need - when they need it.

Respite Care offers the care normally provided at home at another location for temporary period. Under the Botsford program, the older adult moves into a furnished suite at the Botsford Commons Assisted Living Center where qualified, friendly personal care assistants will help with daily living routines.
