Allen Zieger, D.O. (1910-1984) founded Zieger Osteopathic Hospital in Detroit. Established in 1944, Zieger Osteopathic Hospital was the predecessor organization to Botsford Hospital which opened in Farmington Hills in 1965. Named in his memory, the Zieger Health Care Corporation honors Dr. Zieger's life and spirit.

A clinician, surgeon, administrator, and educator, Dr. Zieger was the recipient of the Walter F. Patenge Medal of Public Service from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and the American Osteopathic Hospital Association Award of Merit.

Dr. Zieger was committed to excellence in health care, to the well-being of the community, and to medical education.
