WOMEN'S HEALTH

PrimeTime for Women
For women the difference between "over-the-hill" and "prime time" has nothing to do with age and everything to do with attitude. If you're in the prime of your life--40 and up--take time out for this special event for women only. Cynthia Canty, reporter for UPN 50 will be the keynote speaker. The day will include sessions on menopause, perimenopause, osteoporosis, cardiac health, imagery for health and healing, and stress management. A demonstration on healthy cooking by Chef Larry Janes and a color makeup and wardrobe demonstration by Parisian will complete the day.

"Pathways to Health for Women" - March 6, 11 or 20, 1997 from 2 - 8:00 p.m.
This screening event highlights health risks for women and includes a health questionnaire, blood pressure and cholesterol screening with HDL, osteoporosis screening and body fat analysis.$15 fee.

Menopause is an event common to all women, yet it is experienced in many different ways. Information about managing menopause and treating the diseases that often occur after it, is constantly expanding. Childbirth Education: Celebrate The Event
A six-week program preparing you for childbirth.

A multi-stationed exercise and education program designed for the individual with limited experience using fitness equipment. Participants will be instructed on the proper use of weight and cardiovascular machines.

Diabetes-Cize
A 10-week comprehensive exercise program for people with diabetes. This program will help the person with diabetes to better control blood sugar and improve cardiovascular fitness. Kinetics Programs I & II
This is a light activity for those with musculoskeletal or endurance limitations producing difficulty with daily living. An eight-week course held at TRACC in Novi.

Weight on the Run
Need help with exercise and weight loss? This new 12-week program starts with a fitness assessment and nutritional consultation. Tai Chi
A seven-week beginning program where you will learn to relax and workout at the same time. Tai Chi teaches breathing techniques along with coordination and relaxation of the entire body.
